Andrew J. Paterson, MD

Dr. Paterson is a fellowship-trained spine surgeon who joined Durango Orthopedics in September 2005. This fellowship training is the highest level of training for a spine surgeon. Dr. Paterson specializes in chronic neck and back pain, acute back pain, failed back syndrome, sciatica, radiculopathy, myelopathy, scoliosis, and congenital deformities.

He completed his Bachelor of Science in Environmental, Population and Organismic Biology from the University of Colorado in Boulder, Colorado, and his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Louisville in Louisville, Kentucky. Dr. Paterson then went on to complete his internship and residency in orthopedic surgery from the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Dr. Paterson completed his fellowship training in spine surgery at Panorama Orthopedics in Golden, Colorado.

Dr. Paterson is a member of the North American Spine Society, American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgery, and the American Medical Association.

Dr. Paterson, and his wife Elizabeth, a Nurse Practitioner, enjoys biking, golf, and alpine and nordic skiing.
